Agrafood steps into Romania with a brand new turnkey hatchery

The Agrafood turnkey hatchery is the first Turkish investment ever in the Romanian poultry industry. The hatchery is situated in Ion Roata village, which is surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the Ialomita county.
Mr. Baris Basak (Hatchery Manager) said: “I was very excited when I saw the completely finished hatchery. It is a real turnkey project - custom-made, just one single supplier – Petersime - with bottom to top installation under their co-ordination and supervision. Delivery, construction and start-up were all entirely on schedule”.
Furthermore, the whole project was a model of co-operation between the investor, Agrafood, Agro Foreign Trade and Agency Ltd. (Petersime distributor in Turkey, Mrs. Aysegül Küçükgöçmen), local distributor Agrobel Romania (represented by Mr. Silviu Popescu) and Petersime. The concept and plans for the Agrafood hatchery were developed and designed by the project department at Petersime’s headquarters in Zulte, Belgium.
"The hatchery is equipped with 18 AirStreamer™ 12S setters and 9 AirStreamer™ 4H hatchers, all linked to the Petersime FocusLink™ system, from where I can control everything", Mr. Baris Basak said.
"After the completion of the hatchery, I participated in one of Petersime's training sessions and it was only then I realised the full possibilities of the system, the wealth of information readily available from the Service Station and the accessibility of spares. This is all available at no charge to all Petersime customers. We started up the hatchery, using the start-up guide and, in co-operation with the Petersime service team, we are already achieving top performance."
